The Children's Ministry at HCC exists to partner with you, the parent, as you train up your children to know and follow Jesus. We do this by:
NURSERY/CRY ROOM (Room 101)
Please enjoy this quiet space to sit with your infant, nurse your baby, and be able to see and hear the church service.
NURSERY (Room 102)
Please bring your babies here for play, song and prayer. They will be cared for and prayed over while you enjoy the church service and Sunday school classes.
TODDLER ROOM (Room 103)
Bring your 2 and 3 year old children to play, hear and learn foundational truths about God and themselves through bible stories, songs, scripture memory, activities and crafts. Children will receive a snack and most importantly be loved on by the parent volunteers. The class is currently teaching He Has Spoken By His Son, curriculum produced by Children Desiring God that teaches the life of Jesus and others in the New Testament, emphasizing the foundational truths of scripture.
PRESCHOOL ROOM (Room 201)
Bring your 4 and 5 year olds upstairs for a more in depth look at scripture and foundational truths. They do this through play, singing, bible stories, scripture memory, art work and quality interaction with the volunteers. Children will receive a snack and enjoy playing with each other. Currently this class is using the same curriculum as the toddler room, He Has Spoken By His Son, by Children Desiring God, to encourage family conversation about the lessons and scripture memory. Foundational truths about God and man are emphasized.
BIBLE ALIVE! Families can enjoy part of the church service together through scripture reading, singing and Communion. After Communion, children are dismissed to BIBLE ALIVE! children's church and Sunday school, which concludes at 12.00pm.
BIBLE ALIVE! (Room 203-upstairs)
Bible Alive! children's church and Sunday school is designed for children in preK-5th grade and taught by lead teacher Julie Duncan. When children arrive in this class they will explore Bible stories and characters and participate in a wide variety of activities that reinforce the concepts and lessons they have encountered. Role play, games, snacks, crafts, and sensory exploration are all part of the rich learning experience. Each week our students learn how to apply the Biblical truths they are learning to their lives. Through Bible study, discussion, and activities, kids are offered an exciting place to learn about God and grow in their relationship with Him, their friends, and their leaders.
All teachers are required to submit to a thorough background check. In addition, all teacher helpers must attend training.
