Don't Worry

Don't Worry

Feb 25, 2024

Passage: Matthew 6:25-34

Preacher: Rob Holster

Series: Gospel of the Kingdom

Summary:

I don't know who needs to heart this message, but don't worry. About anything. Sadly, I need to hear it all the time––and need to remind myself of the one who said it––Jesus. We're wrapping up chapter 6 of Matthew this Sunday and we've come to the best part. I think it's safe to say all of us struggle with anxiety. We worry about everything. Jesus says don't worry about anything––and he's going to explain why and how that might be accomplished. The whole theme of chapter 6 has been "God first." Jesus tells us when we practice the spiritual disciplines, we're to do them for God first. When we pray, we're to pray for God first. When we store up treasure, we're to think of God first and store them up in heaven and not on earth. This all culminates in Matthew 6:33––"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
