Passage: The Gospel According to Matthew Matthew 24:23-31

    Preacher: Rob Holster

    Series: Gospel of the Kingdom

    Summary:

We've been going through The Olivet Discourse on Sunday mornings––Matthew 24 and 25––which is Jesus' teaching about the future, and what comes before the end of the age. So far, he's talked about signs and something called "the abomination of desolation." And there have been all sorts of warnings: don't be deceived, don't be led astray, because there will be people who come in the name of Jesus–-and they will even falsely claim to be Jesus. So it brings up the question: What will it look like when Jesus returns? In a world filled with confusion, deception, and competing voices, how can we know? The message this week is from Matthew 24:23–31, and it's titled “It Will Be Unmistakable.” In this passage, Jesus warns us not to be deceived by false claims and misleading signs. He reminds us that His return will not be hidden, uncertain, or something we have to guess about. When the Son of Man comes in glory, it will be unmistakable!
