Summary:

We finished Matthew 21 last time, but chapter 22 is a continuation of a series of three parables. The parables are similar in that they're convicting to the religious leaders in Jerusalem. The first one called out their hypocrisy––pointing out the difference between what they said and what they did. Their words didn't match their actions. The second one called out their rejection of God's messengers––and the Son of God himself. In both cases the religious leaders were made to wrestle with their faith. What did they really believe about God? Did they really have a vital relationship with Him? Or were they pretending––in order to maintain reputation and status? The parable we'll cover this time is about a King's invitation––an invitation to the ones who called themselves children of God. Only they rejected His invitation to come to the wedding feast for his son.
