Passage: The First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians 1 Corinthians 13:1-7

Preacher: Rob Holster

Series: To God's Church

Summary:

The subject for this message is love. We think we know a lot about love, but do we? I mean, what does love mean, anyway? We're going to be in 1 Corinthians 13, and I mentioned last time that chapters 12 through 14 go together––so chapter 13 should be considered when we're covering both 12 and 14. And the reason is, everything Paul teaches in 12 and 14 means nothing without love. Love is the supreme fruit of the Spirit; it's the source of all the others. So what does real love look like? That's the question we'll be diving into when we look at 1 Corinthians 13:1-7, in a message titled "The Truth About Love." In a world where love is often misunderstood or reduced to feelings, the Apostle Paul gives us a deeper picture of what genuine, Christ-centered love looks like. Together, we’ll learn the truth about love––how it is patient, kind, humble, enduring, and willing to put others first. This is agape love, which is the same kind of love God has.
